La Hán là đệ tử đắc đạo của Phật, là chính quả có tu hành cao nhất trong Phật giáo. Khi Tu đến cảnh giới La Hán nghĩa là đã đoạn tận buồn phiền của tam giới, diệt trừ những điều đã thấy, vĩnh viễn giải thoát luân hồi. Về mặt ý nghĩa, La Hán có thể coi là Vô Cực Quả hoặc Giải Vô Học Quả, biểu thị đã đạt tới cực điểm, học hết mọi thứ, không có gì không thể học rồi.
